A Message from the Director

This issue of the DPM Museum Clips newsletter has a new look to coordinate with the new look of the Museum’s website which will be launched Friday, October 5. The museum staff has been working for nearly a year with website designer Gretchen Sharp to create a new design for the DPM site that will make it visually more attractive and easier to navigate.

The site will feature information about museum activities, exhibits and programs. Special sections have been created for educators, kids, and families. A brand new feature will provide online payment opportunities for museum memberships, support of special projects, and/or the purchase of items from the museum gift shop through the use of PayPal.

Please visit our new site often as many improvements are still in process and will be added as soon as work is completed. Our address remains unchanged and is very easy to remember - www.dacotahprairiemuseum.com Check it out and let us know what you think.

In the past this monthly newsletter was sent to our subscribers in the body of an e-mail and our ability to include pictures and graphics was severely limited due to clips the differing capabilities of the various e-mail providers our subscribers use. The newsletter will no longer be distributed that way. Subscribers will instead receive an e-mail announcement that a new issue is available and accessible through an easy link to our website included in the e-mail. We hope this will provide everyone easier access to our news. Of course if you prefer not to receive our e-mails all you need to do is let us know.

Museum Staff and Boards Sharing Plans for Future with Public

You are cordially invited to attend one of these meetings and share your thoughts about these plans. Seating is limited so reservations are requested and may be made by calling Carol at 626-7117. Call today to save a seat in the session most convenient to your schedule:

  • Thursday, October 11: 2:00pm
  • Tuesday, October 16: 8:30am, noon or 7:00pm
  • Thursday, October 18: 8:30am, noon or 5:30pm

All meetings will be held in the museum’s second floor conference room. We look forward to sharing our exciting plans with you.
