Gallery J – The Toy Room

As you look about this room, you'll see some very old toys used by children of long ago. They really aren't so very different from the toys today's kids play with. The tricycles, sleds, doll buggy, rocking horse and doll are still popular. The miniature home appliances were not only toys but useful in teaching young girls about their future duties as wives and mothers. The toy soldiers are sturdily made of iron. You'll also notice some children's books, bowling alley, camera, the “magic” lantern and the stereoscope.
